A brief history and milestones...
November 7, 1988, The Bremen Dollars for Scholars Chapter was established. A handful of people literally reaching into their pockets for a total of $50 to complete the charter application. The first year 11 scholarships were given totaling $7,100.00.
September 17, 1989 The first annual meeting of the Bremen Chapter of Dollars for Scholars was held.
April 23, 1990 The first Bremen DFS phon-a-thon took place. $2,000 was pledged and $1,817 was collected.
May 1992 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $10,000 in annual scholarship giving.
May 1993 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $20,000 in annual scholarship giving.
February 7, 1996 Bremen DFS partners with the Marshall County Community Foundation to establish permanent endowments.
May 1997 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $30,000 in annual scholarship giving.
May 2001 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $40,000 in annual scholarship giving.
May 2014 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $1 million in total giving.
June 2014 Bremen Dollars for Scholars partners with Scholarships of America.
October 2014 Bremen Dollars for Scholars website is created.
May 2015 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $50,000 in annual scholarship giving.
May 2017 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $60,000 in annual scholarship giving.
April 2022 BDFS is now on Instagram.
May 2022 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $70,000 in annual scholarship giving.
May 2022 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $1.5 million in total giving.
July 2022 Bremen Dollars for Scholars surpasses $80,000 in annual scholarship giving.
